Celery Salad

I am running behind on sharing recipes and still being relevant to the season! Before spring is over, I thought I would share this recipe with you. I always insist on having this salad when spring time comes around. It truly is a plate of spring and the only way I can describe it is ‘refreshing’. It’s really hard to try and explain what I mean, but I guess you will either have to take my word for it or try it out.

It’s great to serve at a braai (yup, I at least managed to get this out before braai day – whoop whoop).

This salad is definitely a must-try; even if it’s once this spring/summer season.

Ingredients

1 Bunch Celery, sliced
1 Medium Green cabbage, shredded
1 onion, finely chopped or grated
4 Cloves Garlic, crushed
½ Cup Sugar
½ Cup White Vinegar
½ Cup Oil
Fresh Ground Pepper
Salt
Cumin seeds

Instruction

  • In a large bowl, mix the celery and cabbage.
  • In a smaller bowl or measuring jug, mix well the onion, garlic, sugar, white vinegar, oil, salt and pepper.
  • Drizzle the dressing over the cabbage and celery salad.
  • Sprinkle the cumin seeds onto the salad.
